The Alibaba Netpreneur Training(ANT) program will provide local Malaysian digital entrepreneurs and business owners an opportunity to learn and explore how to harness digital technology to positively transform their businesses and the local economy. The program is organized by Alibaba Business School, in partnership with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) for passionate entrepreneurs and leaders in Malaysia who are committed to building strong businesses for lasting success.

• Fundamentals of the role of new technology and the digital economy in enabling national development.

• Key learnings from traditional businesses from a wide range of industries who recently went through the digital transformation in China.

• Insights into the most cutting-edge trends and practices in use within the growing digital economy in China.

• Gain a deeper understanding of business frameworks and strategic patterns, learn how to create an environment based on Alibaba's practical experience(such as how to make strategy guided by Mission, Vision and Values and supported by Organization, People and KPI) to strengthen your organization’s capacity to drive innovation and achieve greater results.

Opportunities to attend offline program held in Alibaba's headquarters:

During the ANT online course, participants will receive project assignments on weekly basis and a capstone assignment at the end. Based on the outcome of the online participation and the assignments completions, the excellent performers will have the opportunity to attend the offline immersion in Alibaba headquarters in Hangzhou once the travel restrictions due to the pandemic are lifted.

(Due to the COVID-19, the offline program cannot be organized at the moment, we will keep you posted if there is any update.)


What we cannot promise:

• The opportunity to partner with Alibaba.

• The opportunity to receive Alibaba investment.


Who are we looking for?

The training program welcomes founders, co-founders, CEO or business owners who are:

• Passionate about progress in their home country and willing to explore long-term solutions for developing the digital economy.

• Committed to building strong businesses for lasting success, but also to creating communities that enable experience sharing and others to succeed.

• Curious, pragmatic, and willing to adapt to the capabilities of new technology in their home countries and tap into the global market.

• Either looking to transform their businesses digitally or providing solutions, services or training to enable digital transformation.


Enrollment criteria:

• You MUST be a full-time founder/co-founder, CEO or business owner of an officially registered venture that has been in operation for at least 2 years.

• You MUST provide at least 1 referral in your application (referrals from a partner/organizer are preferred).

• You MUST provide your official business license when requested during the application process.


Program length:

    • 6-weeks online course

    • Excellent performers have the opportunities to be invited to a week-long offline program in Alibaba Headquarter in Hangzhou, China


    • A lifelong learning and sharing experience


Program costs:

Phase One - Online learning


    • Tuition Fee.

Not covered (costs you must personally cover):

    • Participants' Internet connection fee in your local country.



Phase Two - Physical Immersion at Alibaba Campus


    • Tuition Fee.

    • Training materials and training session costs.

    • Field trip and site visit transportation costs.

Not covered (costs you must personally cover):

    • Air tickets and transportation/pick-up services to and from Hangzhou, China.

    • Hotel accommodation.

    • Additional food or personal expenses.
