Creating high-quality videos to showcase your products

With in-person trade shows on pause, potential buyers miss out on the opportunity to see, feel, and experience your products. Sales now start and end online. That’s why your product listings need to stand out and serve as an advertisement. Creating high-quality videos showcasing your products is one way to do this. Business buyers don’t just use product videos to inspire them to make a purchase. They use them to examine the product they’re buying in detail.

For example, in the upcoming Global Products Expo: Made in the USA, we’ve asked the 150+ exhibiting sellers to submit high-quality videos to wow the global buyers attending the event. Sara Nixon, Director of Account Management at Alibaba.com, offers some tips and tricks you can use to create professional videos that highlight your products:

  1. Branding - Include your branding throughout the video. Pretend you’re in a trade show booth, and put your logo on company shirts, signs, products, and backdrops.
  2. Lighting - Shoot your video in a well-lit area. If you have a light on a stand or a ring light, place it in front of you for the best visual.
  3. Video quality - Steady your camera and set it at eye level. If you’re using a phone or camera to record, be sure it’s steadied on a tripod.
  4. Audio - Use a microphone and headphones to get the best audio quality. Try to film in a quiet place with no background noise.
  5. Framing - Make sure your video shows all the items you want the audience to see.
